Chamber Ensembles
Chamber music is a form of classical music that is composed for a small group of instruments—traditionally a group that could fit in a palace chamber or a large room. Chamber ensembles are a wonderful complement to private lessons and large ensemble experience; these small groups provide a different way of listening, responding, and playing. Open to all musicians, groups are formed based on ability, experience, and instrumentation. All chamber ensembles meet for weekly coaching sessions and perform in recitals in January and April.
Eligibility: Open to youth and adults of all instruments. String players able to read notes and rhythms at or above the Suzuki Book 2 level. Ensembles are grouped by age and experience level; students may request others they’d like to be grouped with, but groupings are not guaranteed.
