Sara Devine - Music for People with Disabilities

She smiles as she sings and plays a drum with her hands.Sara Devine, MT-BC, NMT, LCSW, is the teacher of the Community Music School's Music for People with Disabilities classes and the owner and founder of Expressive Therapies LLC. She has 20 years of experience working with individuals and groups, combining her passions of music and positive mental health together in her approach to optimize potential and promote wellness. Sara is trained to become a Board Certified Music Therapist, Neurologic Music Therapy - Member, and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She is also in her final year of training to become a Fellow of the Association for Music and Imagery, working specifically with the Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music.

Sara has had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of ages from infants through geriatrics and populations including traumatic brain injuries, physical disabilities, autism spectrum, medical diagnoses including cancer, cardiac and physical rehabilitation, cognitive disabilities, dementia/Alzheimer’s disease to depression and anxiety due to situational stressors and/or chronic illness.
